Legal information
Terms
Briefly: who publishes Rimdal, what applies to the content, and which agreement governs the app itself.
This English text is provided for information. The Swedish version of these terms is the binding one, and it governs if the two ever disagree.
Rimdal is not released yet. This page describes the situation as it stands today. The final licence agreement is shown on the app's App Store page when it is published, and that is the text that applies to a download.
Publisher
Rimdal is published by Amir Azarniya Staaf as a private individual, not by a company. The same person is the data controller — see the privacy policy.
The licence for the app
The app is distributed through the App Store. If no separate licence agreement is given on the product page, Apple's standard end user licence applies: Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
The app is downloaded through Apple, and Apple also handles payment, receipts and refunds. The price is on the app's page in the App Store.
The content
The stories, the illustrations and the character Sigel are made to be read inside the app.
Two typefaces are licensed from others: Atkinson Hyperlegible Next (Braille Institute of America) and Literata, both under the SIL Open Font License. The licence texts travel with the app and with this website.
What the app does not claim to be
Rimdal is a reading app, not an assessment. It makes no diagnosis, measures no reading ability, and should not be used as evidence for judging a child's development. What it shows a parent is a habit signal: that reading is happening, how often and for how long.
It does not control other apps either, and it does not switch the phone off. The earned time is a number the app works out — how it is used is the family's agreement.
Changes
When the app changes, these pages change with it. Material changes to the processing of personal data are announced in the app, per section 9 of the privacy policy.
